Delivery: Self-study via materials provided online, plus three Zoom classes: an introduction and two seminars with student presentations
This course is ideal for students who wish to develop or brush up their academic skills for personal study, or before moving on to an undergraduate or postgraduate degree course. We will cover different aspects of how to study at this level, including critical reading, academic writing, presentation skills, group work and secondary research techniques. You will learn by working through online or postal materials, doing a short presentation about a topic for a Zoom seminar and writing a short essay. There will also be guidance from your tutor via email and Zoom.
